Caragh GFC Hosts Girls’ Festival of Football 2025

Caragh GFC Hosts Girls’ Festival of Football 2025

Caragh GFC was buzzing with excitement on Saturday as we proudly hosted our Girls’ Festival of Football 2025 at St. Farnan’s Park. The day was a resounding success, bringing together players, mentors, families, and supporters for what has become one of the highlights of our club calendar.

A huge thank you goes to the teams who travelled to take part, creating a brilliant atmosphere of fun, football, and friendship. We were delighted to welcome:

  • St. Broughans GAA
  • Summerhill GFC
  • Edenderry GAA
  • Raheens GAA / LGFA Club
  • Na Fianna GAA Meath
  • St. Mary’s GAA
  • Ballykelly GFC

It was wonderful to see so many young girls out on the pitches, enjoying the game, supporting one another, and showing great skill and determination throughout the blitz. The festival not only celebrated football but also highlighted the growth of girls’ participation in our club.

We also want to extend a massive thank you to everyone who made the day possible. Our mentors worked tirelessly to arrange fixtures and ensure that everything ran smoothly. Our fantastic volunteers gave their time to help with refereeing, car parking, and organisation, all of which ensured the festival went off without a hitch.

Special recognition must go to the catering team and parents who contributed food and refreshments. The hall was a hive of activity, with brilliant hospitality that many visiting clubs commented on. The warm welcome and professional set-up were a credit to our club.

The feedback from parents, mentors, and visiting clubs has been overwhelmingly positive, with many praising not just the organisation but also the atmosphere of fun and inclusivity that the day created. It was clear that the girls left St. Farnan’s Park not only with happy memories but also with a stronger love of football.

We are already looking forward to welcoming everyone back next year for another memorable festival. Days like this show the very best of what our club and community can achieve together.
